Today in class we started a new project about six word stories. A six word story is simply a short text sequence with six words that typically tells a meaningful story. We also learned a little bit about Ernest Hemingway and were told to research about one of Hemingway's most famous six word stories, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn". When I first read this I didn't really understand what it meant so I took a little bit of time to break it down. My first thought once I understood it was that it was about a women who had a miscarriage and bought baby shoes that her baby could never wear, so she was selling them. I also thought that maybe she might've been selling the baby shoes because maybe they were going bankrupt and money was tight around this time for many families so I thought it could've been to earn more money. After some research, I discovered from many different sites that the meaning was indeed about a mother who had a miscarriage and was selling new, never worn baby shoes. I thought this was super sad and depressing. Not only did I research Ernest Hemingway and his six word story, but I also discovered a few other six word stories that stood out to me.
