Broadcast Technology has been so much fun this semester with Mr. Goble! I signed up for this class not too sure if I was going to like it and not sure if I was going to be interested in it but I'm so glad I took this class! I really enjoy watching YouTube videos and the YouTubers I watch use Final Cut Pro to edit their videos so I've always been so interested on how they do it. I've learned quite a bit about Final Cut and I now know that if I was required to use it to edit in the future I would be so much more confident to work with it. I've not only learned how to edit, but also how to capture videos and all of the different aspects that go into a good shot. I've learned about sequencing, B roll, angles, soundbites and natural sound, and color. All of these things will be so useful for recording and capturing shots in other classes as well as in the future. My favorite project we've done has definitely been the final project on B roll interviews. It was the most difficult in my eyes, but definitely the most exciting and I felt so accomplished once I was completely finished with it. Mrs. Davidson and Mr. Goble have been so great this semester and have taught me so much! I would totally take this class over again if I could!

Sadly, a few weeks ago in broadcast technology, we began our final project. This has definitely been the most tedious and difficult project so far, but without a doubt the most fun. My friends Ellie and Jamie and I started by emailing Mrs. Mannix (science teacher) asking if we could do a story about what it's like teaching students in the trailers this year because of the construction going on here at Ladue. She emailed back happy to do it and we took a few days to film the construction as well as a lot of shots of the outside and inside of the trailer. We then interviewed Mrs. Mannix herself as well of a couple students on their thoughts on the trailers. We put it all together in a Final Cut Pro video with different soundbites, B roll, and sequencing. This project was difficult because there was so much to do, but in my opinion it was super fun and I think my video turned out great!
