My first video so far this school year was on student fashion at Ladue and the different styles we see through the halls. Hannah Harder and I worked on this project together in hopes to learn why some students dress the way they do at school. We started off by planning out our video. First, we thought of a few questions we wanted to ask the students in interviews, such as why they chose to dress the way they did that day, does their clothing impact their mood, etc. We were fortunate enough to be able to pull students from class to interview them throughout the school and ask them these questions. We recorded their answers and captured b-roll to be able to show their styles in our video. Once we got all of the clips, we put them all together and edited, creating a fun, laidback video to interest other students on fashion at Ladue. I had a lot of fun making this video and I found it very interesting to really see what students wear to school and why. I found many of their answers relatable to me and my style as well! I think that Hannah and I did a good job at getting a variety of styles shown in such a short video, but I think we could have gotten more intriguing b-roll of each outfit. Also, I think this video could be taken even further with even more styles, more interviewees, and more detail to create a full story.
